Hi, I'm Sofiya!I’m a Registered Nurse and the founder of Simply You Aesthetic. I started my nursing career in outpatient surgery, working in pre-op and PACU, where I quickly learned how much the little things matter—helping someone feel comfortable, taking the time to listen, and making sure they feel genuinely cared for. I created Simply You Aesthetic because I wanted to bring that same level of care into laser hair removal, but in a more relaxed and personal setting.
I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, confident in your treatment, and never pressured into something you don’t need.
I’m a little bit of a perfectionist; I love what I do, and I truly enjoy getting to know the people I care for. As your treatments progress, hair becomes finer, softer, and less noticeable, leaving your skin smoother with less frequent shaving. After completing your treatment series, occasional maintenance sessions may help preserve your results.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients describe laser hair removal as a quick snap against the skin, similar to a rubber band or tiny pinpricks. The sensation is brief and lasts only a fraction of a second with each pulse of the laser. While everyone's pain tolerance is different, most people find the treatment very manageable—often much more comfortable than waxing since the hair isn't being pulled from the root. Our Candela GentleMax Pro also features an advanced cooling system to help keep treatments as comfortable as possible.
Does laser hair removal work on any skin type?
Yes! Laser hair removal is safe and effective for a wide range of skin tones when the appropriate laser and treatment settings are used. At Simply You Aesthetic, we use the Candela GentleMax Pro, a medical-grade laser system that features both the Alexandrite (755 nm) and Nd:YAG (1064 nm) lasers. This dual-wavelength technology allows us to safely and effectively treat a variety of skin tones and hair types by selecting the laser best suited to your individual needs. Every treatment is performed by a Registered Nurse and customized to your skin tone, hair type, and goals to provide safe, comfortable, and effective results.
Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction, not complete permanent hair removal. Most clients see their best results after 6–8 treatments, but you may need up to 10- 12 sessions, spaced several weeks (4- 6 weeks) apart, as the laser is most effective during the hair's active growth phase.
Over time, treated hair becomes finer, lighter, and grows back much more slowly. Results vary based on factors such as hair type, skin tone, hormones, and the treatment area. Occasional maintenance treatments may be recommended to help maintain your results.
